About WiDS
The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field.
WiDS started as a one-day technical conference at Stanford in November 2015. Years later, WiDS is a global movement that includes a number of worldwide initiatives.
We are proud to bring the international Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference to Sri Lanka featuring Sri Lankan women working in the field of Data Science.
About WiDS Sri Lanka
WiDS Sri Lanka is independently organized by WiDS Sri Lanka Ambassadors to be part of the mission to increase participation of women in data science and to feature outstanding women doing outstanding work. Having started in 2023 with just 3 members, we are now a proud 26 member team.

WiDS Sri Lanka Conference
WiDS Sri Lanka conferences are planned and organized by our ambassadors. This annual conference will feature an all-female line up of speakers and panelists from academia and industry to talk about the latest data science-related research. The event will comprise of a variety of data science fields, as well as workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions. All talks will be in English.
We strive to inspire and build a community for Women in Data Science, in Sri Lanka.
