About WiDS
The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field.
WiDS started as a one-day technical conference at Stanford in November 2015. Years later, WiDS is a global movement that includes a number of worldwide initiatives.
We are proud to bring the international Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference to Sri Lanka featuring Sri Lankan women working in the field of Data Science.
About WiDS Sri Lanka
WiDS Sri Lanka is independently organized by WiDS Sri Lanka Ambassadors to be part of the mission to increase participation of women in data science and to feature outstanding women doing outstanding work. Having started in 2023 with just 3 members, we are now a proud 26 member team

WiDS NextGen inspires secondary school students to consider careers involving data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and related fields. We especially encourage girls by showcasing successful Sri Lankan women who are making an impact in the field.
