About WiDS
The Women in Data Science (WiDS) initiative aims to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and to support women in the field.
WiDS started as a one-day technical conference at Stanford in November 2015. Years later, WiDS is a global movement that includes a number of worldwide initiatives.
We are proud to bring the international Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference to Sri Lanka featuring Sri Lankan women working in the field of Data Science.
About WiDS Sri Lanka
WiDS Sri Lanka is independently organized by WiDS Sri Lanka Ambassadors to be part of the mission to increase participation of women in data science and to feature outstanding women doing outstanding work. Having started in 2023 with just 3 members, we are now a proud 26 member team.

Upskill Workshops
With the goal of inspiring and educating data scientists worldwide, the WiDS Sri Lanka Upskill Workshop programme is designed to enhance the skills of both experienced data scientists and newcomers to the field. The workshops will be held monthly in a virtual setting, running from March to November, and feature dedicated instructors who are experts in their domain. WiDS Sri Lanka Upskill Workshops are free and open to everyone. The workshop speakers would be fluent in English, and Sinhalese.
